Frequently Asked Questions

Jacksonville FL Wedding and Engagement Photographer

Q. Do you travel?

A. YES! We have traveled all over the US and Internationally for weddings and elopements (and it’s our absolute favorite when people trust us and take us on their adventure with them!) We offer all inclusive collections that include all travel costs (no extra fees) for all weddings within the US and create custom quotes for weddings or elopements outside of the US. Contact us and let’s chat about your adventure!

Q. What should I expect from both of you?

A. Lots of genuine laughter that creates authentic moments full of joy while documenting you feeling and looking your absolute best! The goal is to ease any stress you may have and for you to have a blast while just being yourself in front of the lens! We strive for real over fake moments but, don’t worry we will pose and direct you as needed. One thing not to expect is to get ordinary basic photos or video from us. Hopefully you also feel like you have gained new friends in the process of working together. Every wedding and session is personal to us and we pour our heart, time and talent into each one. Finding the right photo and video team for your day is a feeling. Like the saying goes, when you know, you know!

Q. when can i expect to receive my wedding photo + video?

A. You will get a sneak preview 1-2 weeks after your wedding day for both photo and video and your final photo gallery as well as your wedding film will be delivered no later than 90 days after your wedding. Delivery time can vary depending on what season we are in and how busy we are!

Q. do I have to book both photo and video?

A. The majority of the weddings we book are as a photo and video team working side by side on wedding days but If you only need photo or only need video for whatever you are looking to have documented, that’s not a problem! You can absolutely book just photo or just video if needed depending on availability. There are discounts and other incentives when you book photo + video collections together though!

Q. How many weddings have you shot?

A. Both Krystal and Nick have shot well over 450+ weddings combined since 2010! Which for us, is pretty amazing and crazy to think about! We seriously have the best clients who trust us to document their most important memories and it’s not lost on us how cool our job is while getting to be a part of their best days, in some really cool places with great people.

Q. Are you licensed and insured?

A. Yes! We are a fully licensed and insured business in the state of Florida

Q. how long have you been in business?

A. In 2010 Krystal formed her own photography company as a full time business and in 2019 Nick formed his own videography company as a full time business. Together they joined forces in 2023 and formed West House Visuals to offer wedding photo and video together so they could do what they love alongside one another as a team!

Q. How would you describe your style?

A. We both pride ourselves on creating dreamy authentic visual storytelling for both photo and video while staying true to color and skin tones with our editing styles. We want our work to stay timeless and never go out of style, 10 or 20 years from now! We love romantic and real moments but will pose you if needed. Krystal will usually be the one giving you silly prompts that will make you laugh and feel comfortable while Nick takes more of a documentary style approach capturing things as they naturally unfold. We always want our time together to be fun and effortless. Our goal is for you to look back at your memories how we captured them and fall in love with the moments all over again!

Q. Do you have a studio space you shoot in?

A. Krystal shoots all of her newborn and boudoir sessions in their renovated historic 1928 bungalow home in downtown Jacksonville, FL. Think lots of natural light, plants and neutral boho vibes! There is also the option to use the personal green house for portrait and boudoir sessions as well! (depending on the season we are in). Portrait, business branding or head shot sessions can be done in home if someone doesn’t want to go on location for their shoot as well.

Q. What do I wear for my photo session?

A. I always recommend not matching but coordinating with the vibe you are going for or colors that are cohesive together is a must. Avoid large or distracting patterns or brand logos if possible. Jewel tones, soft pastels, floral or neutrals always read well on camera but I will help guide you on the best colors or look depending on your location and overall look you want.
